Brand was originally drafted by the Chicago Bulls with the #1 overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft. After two years in Chicago, he was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers where he spent seven seasons before bolting for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2008. After four years in Philadelphia, he was released via the amnesty clause and joined the Dallas Mavericks for a season. He signed with the Hawks in the offseason.
Brand is averaging just 5.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game this season, but he has had a fantastic career.
He has posted career averages of 16.7 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.8 blocks and 0.9 steals per game while shooting 50.1% from the field and 73.7% from the free throw line.
