Tennessee Titans release Chris Johnson
By Jack Crosby
In a move that was expected to come through on Friday, the Tennessee Titans have released embattled running back Chris Johnson, per Jim Wyatt.
The team was expected to make this more before the offseason training activities got underway after they were unwilling to find a trade partner for the man that was once one of the more productive backs in the league and a Fantasy Football legend.
Johnson was drafted by the Titans in 2008 and quickly became one of the biggest stars in the league with his explosive style. In recent years, though, his work ethic has been called in to question and his production has dropped off rapidly, warranting the release.
As for teams willing to sign the veteran, it’s said at this point that the three most likely at this point are the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets. Although, anyone can swoop in now, if the price is right.
