Former Houston Texans linebacker Sam Montgomery is getting another crack in the NFL after agreeing to terms with the Cincinnati Bengals, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.

Montgomery entered the NFL last year as a third-round pick out of LSU, before being released along with other Texans players for an unspecified violation of team rules prior to a game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

After being released, Montgomery worked out for the Oakland Raiders, Bengals and a few undisclosed teams, before ultimately choosing to sign on to the Raiders practice squad.

Montgomery will now have an opportunity to revive his career, but he will have to report to the Bengals in shape and prove that he is ready to resume his playing career after a huge setback just a few months ago.
