With the hoops season winding down, I thought it would be nice to give our NBA readers some daily fantasy basketball picks for Friday night’s card.

This is going to be a challenge, with half the teams resting their starters, and half the teams tanking.  A lineup isn’t easy to build, so I will do my best to forecast my best plays based on who should be available tomorrow.

PG – Kyrie Irving, Cleveland Cavaliers, $7900 – Irving recently returned from a shoulder injury, and his price has gone down big time on daily fantasy sites.  Up against the Milwaukee Bucks — a team that checked out in November — I expect no defense to be played.  Play the former Duke Blue Devil for the value price.

SG – Avery Bradley, Boston Celtics, $3500 – I’m guessing his prices haven’t been adjusted yet, since this price is way too low for a guy who should stuff the stat sheet tomorrow.  Bradley is the value play of the day.

SF – Chandler Parsons, Houston Rockets, $7400 – Oh Chandler, you make young girls’ hearts melt and you contribute in multiple categories.  Playing in an up-tempo offense doesn’t hurt either.  What don’t you do?  Houston can put up 120-130 points on any given night. Don’t be shy to play Chandler Parsons.

PF – Serge Ibaka, Oklahoma City Thunder, $7500 – Ibaka is going up against the New Orleans Pelicans, who just announced that Anthony Davis is out for the season, so you know what that means?  The Pelicans are extremely weak in their frontcourt and I expect Ibaka to benefit big time in this scenario.

C – Josh McRoberts, Charlotte Bobcats, $4100 – McRoberts’ price is a little lower than usual due to last week’s injury.  I like him at this price, as it gives us a little wiggle room to spend on our utility player.  McRoberts should contribute 25-30 fantasy points for us on Friday night.

G – Jodie Meeks, Los Angeles Lakers, $5400 – Yes, I chose a Laker.  They are going up against the Golden State Warriors, who are playing in a back-to-back, and Meeks will take advantage.  The Lakers’ shooting guard has played over 35 minutes in the last 4 games, and is averaging 32.5 fantasy points.  I like the potential for upside in this matchup.

F – Joe Johnson, Brooklyn Nets, $5400 – Why the heck is this guy on my team?  Well, he is playing against his former team who essentially dumped him for a few bottles of Gatorade.  I expect him to go off against Atlanta, a team that is fighting for their playoff lives.

UTIL – Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City Thunder, $8800 – For my last pick I chose Russell Westbrook, or as Magic Johnson calls him, “Wussell Restbrook”.  It was really between Westbrook and Paul George here, but George is playing against the Miami Heat, and I expect a little more defense to be played in that game.  When in question, always go for the game with the higher/over under line.
