The Seattle Seahawks aren’t close minded to the idea of re-signing wide receiver Sidney Rice, but they aren’t the only team thinking about it. While he’s not the hottest commodity not he free agent market at the moment, there is significant interest in Rice from as many as four different teams.

One of those teams is not the New York Giants. Despite being rumored early on as having mild interest in Rice, the Giants will not be making a run at him according to ESPN.com’s Dan Graziano.

"There was also a report Monday linking the Giants to oft-injured wide receiver Sidney Rice, who’s apparently telling teams he’s been cleared medically, but I am told not to expect the Giants to be serious bidders if a lot of other teams get involved on Rice."

New York needs a lot of help and receiver is a position where they should never turn away assistance. But Rice isn’t who he was the one good year he had back with the Minnesota Vikings and Brett Favre isn’t going to come out of retirement to help return him to glory.

The Giants could use Rice but it looks like they’re better off finding help in other places first.
