Oklahoma City Thunder power forward Serge Ibaka has become one of the most important players in the league.

Sure, he isn’t the player two of his teammates, forward Kevin Durant and point guard Russell Westbrook are, but the Thunder are going to win the first NBA World Championship this season, they need Ibaka to block shots, protect the rim and be a solid third scorer for the Thunder on most nights, something he is certainly capable of doing.

Shot-blocking has never been a problem for Ibaka, who finished fourth in Monday’s Defensive Player of the Year Voting, behind the winner, Chicago Bulls’ center Joakim Noah, Indiana Pacers’ center Roy Hibbert and Los Angeles Clippers’ center DeAndre Jordan.

Ibaka is having a huge game on the defensive end Monday night, seemingly blocking shot after shot. When Memphis Grizzlies’ big man Ed Davis went up to the rim and was blocked by Ibaka, Ibaka responded with Dikembe Mutombo’s vintage finger wag.
