With the recent signing of free agent Josh McCown, who has already been anointed the starter by new head coach Lovie Smith, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers haven’t been rumored to be all that interested in taking a quarterback in next month’s NFL Draft. When you couple in the drafting the Mike Glennon last season also, it makes the thought of taking a signal caller at no. 7 all that more impossible.

Well according to ESPN’s Vaughn McClure, the team is very interested in one quarterback in particular with that seventh overall pick, and that’s former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel.

With all of the potential movement that we’ve heard of already, there is a very good chance that Manziel would be there at no. 7 for the Bucs to grab if they so choose, passing up on either a top defensive player or a top wide receiver, which have been the rumored positions of interest for the team throughout the pre-draft process.

It would be interesting to see legendary collegiate offensive and QB guru Jeff Tedford get the chance to work with Manziel.
