The New England Patriots are in the market for a running back.

They have three young backs in Brandon Bolden, Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen, but they lost LeGarrette Blount to the Pittsburgh Steelers and would like to replace him.

Wisconsin Badgers’ running back James White recently worked out for the Patriots.

According to Jim Thomas of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Patriots went to Missouri to work out former Tigers’ running back Henry Josey and two of his former Tigers’ teammates, wide receiver Marcus Lucas and tight end/fullback Eric Waters.

The 5’10, 190-pound Josey was outstanding for the Tigers last season. He rushed for 1,166 yards and 16 touchdowns on 174 carries last season while catching 10 passes for another 65 yards and a touchdown. The 6’5, 220-pound Lucas had 682 yards and three touchdowns on 58 receptions. The 6’5, 245-pound Waters caught eight passes for 72 yards and a touchdown.
