San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has found himself in the center of a controversy involving an incident in Miami earlier this month being investigated by police officers. Speaking publicly about it for the first time, 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh has come out and voiced his support for his quarterback calling it a “witch-hunt.”

“Looking at Colin Kaepernick’s situation, at some point there needs to be a resolution to some of this jump-the-gun, witch-hunt scenario we’re seeing,” Harbaugh said Friday, according to the Bay Area News Group.

Harbaugh said he has had a chance to hear both sides and was using that to base his opinion. While expressing a belief that their will be a good resolution, Harbaugh said he was also concerned about the damage to Kaepernick’s reputation.

“I’ve seen one side reported. I’ve heard the other side,” Harbaugh said. “I feel very good there’ll be a good resolution, and hopefully a just one, too. I hate to see his reputation be the victim.

“Winston Churchill had a great quote: ‘A lie will get halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to put on its pants,'” Harbaugh added. “At some point there needs to be a resolution to this scenario. The only victim in Colin’s case is Colin’s reputation.”
