NBA Playoffs 2014: Damian Lillard beats the 3rd quarter buzzer (GIF)
After losing two consecutive games to start what was thought by many to be a potentially very lengthy playoff run, the Houston Rockets were able to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon on Friday night 121-116. Little-known and little-used rookie Troy Daniels broke a tie by nailing what would wind up being the game-winning three-pointer with just 11 seconds to play.
The two are back at it Sunday night with the Rockets trying to tie the series at two games apiece and win back the home court advantage they lost in game 1 and the Blazers attempting to take a commanding 3-1 series lead that would be quite difficult for the Rockets to overcome.
The Rockets have been in control for a majority of the game, but Damian Lillard struck again to get the Blazers right back into the game and seize the momentum entering the fourth quarter.
With time running out in the third quarter, Lillard took an in-bounds pass and drilled a corner three as the horn sounded, cutting the Rockets’ lead to five.
