NBA Rumors: Donald Sterling will sue NBA if forced to sell Los Angeles Clippers
By Josh Hill
The NBA has already banned Donald Sterling for life after his heinous views on the world were revealed to the public in his own words over the weekend. Now the league is coming for his ownership stake in the Los Angeles Clippers and that is where Sterling is putting his for down hard, as he’s not at all going to go quietly if voted out by his fellow owners.
According to The New York Daily News, Sterling is gearing up to sue the NBA if they try to force him to sell the team which will no doubt explode this issue into an even bigger deal as a lawsuit between Sterling and the NBA will likely drag on for a very long time.
"The wheels are in motion to remove Sterling, a process that the executive said Wednesday night would lead to a lawsuit by the disgraced owner, possibly tying up the future of the team for years.“He is not going to sell the team,” the executive said."
Only bad things can come out of a lawsuit between Sterling and the NBA as even if the league eventually wins and Sterling is forced out, the event will become solidified as a massive moment in American civil rights and the media coverage will be a wide ranging circus of emotional differences.
Hopefully, the NBA has itself covered in case of a lawsuit, but Sterling himself is a lawyer and won’t go without putting up a fight that ensures he gets attention and possibly even elongated ownership of the Clippers. Sterling is already a villain, and he has absolutely nothing to lose by spending his fortune going out of this with a massive legal fight.
