NBA Rumors: Dallas Mavericks could get to pitch to LeBron James
Miami Heat forward LeBron James is currently chasing his third consecutive championship, but once the postseason comes to an end, he is expected to opt out of his contract and become a free agent.
Although it would be quite the upset if he does not re-sign with the Heat, James will likely still listen to what a few teams have to say.
According to Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News, once James opts out, the Dallas Mavericks will likely get a chance to make a pitch to James mostly because of owner Mark Cuban.
"He will opt out, from all indications. And when he does, there will be 30 teams kicking the tires with his agent to see if there’s any chance. About 25 of those teams will instantly be told no. The rest will be told to make their best pitch. The Mavericks probably have a chance to get to the table, just because of Cuban. Stranger things have happened, but not many."
James averaged 27.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
