The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made their first round selection early on Thursday, taking Mike Evans from Texas A&M to pair with Vincent Jackson in the receiving corps. The question on Day 2 was where would they go at No. 38 overall and would it be another offensive weapon or a defensive stud for Lovie Smith.

Ultimately, the Buccaneers drafted Austin Seferian-Jenkins, a tight end who can give them a big target for whoever ends up being the quarterback in Tampa Bay.

It wasn’t the flashiest pick that the Buccaneers could have made and they left big names like Marqise Lee, Louis Nix III and others not he board, but Austin Seferian-Jenkins fills a need that the Bucs need really badly and he can now give the team the big tight end that has become the norm in the NFL.
