NBA Rumors: Houston Rockets interested in Trevor Ariza, Shawn Marion, Thabo Sefolosha

The Houston Rockets obviously would love to make a big splash in the offseason, but the likelihood of them landing a player like Carmelo Anthony or Chris Bosh doesn’t seem all that likely.

They may have to go a different route.

Bill Ingram of Basketball Insiders lists Shawn Marion, Trevor Ariza and Thabo Sefolosha as potential fits.

"There are a number of tweak moves that could be made to shore up the defense. Shawn Marion is still a capable defender, as are Trevor Ariza and Thabo Sefolosha, but do any of these names constitute a “big splash?”Hardly.The Western Conference gets tougher every year, and while the Rockets have moved up in the standings they are no closer to contending than they were a year ago. A coaching change would seem to solve many of their issues, but failing that they have their work cut out for them in the quest to compete for a championship."

Ariza averaged 14.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game this season, Marion put up 10.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game while Sefolosha went for 6.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
