There seems to be reap idly developing news on the NBA coaching front as after weeks of watching the Knicks blow kisses across the room to Steve Kerr, the Golden State Warriors are manning up and making a move. While Kerr is considered to be the frontrunner to land the Knicks job, the Dubs have been sneaking in try and pry him away and they may have their best chance at that this week.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo! Sports, the Warriors brass are flying to Oklahoma City to meet with Steve Kerr and see if they can’t wrestle him away from the Knicks.

The reason for the meeting happening in Oklahoma City is that Kerr is still working for TNT and will be calling the Thunder-Clippers game with Marv Albert on Tuesday. Clearly the television job isn’t the sacred ground the Knicks seem to think it is as the Dubs are not waiting for the postseason to be over to meet with Kerr and try to hire him.

Golden State has long been the major competitor for the Knicks when it comes to Kerr and their best chance at leapfrogging them could come this week. All of this has been prompted by the Detroit Pistons swooping in on Stan Van Gundy — the previous favorite to land the Warriors gig — and with Detroit in negotiations to lock down Van Gundy, the Dubs are moving fast and hard to lock down Kerr before the dust settles.
