The Washington Wizards are back up against a wall in their series against the Indiana Pacers and it’s really putting a damper on their otherwise impressive season. But while it may be close to coming to an end, there is hope for the future and that hope starts with new contracts for two of the team’s most important players outside of John Wall and Bradley Beal.

According to TNT Analyst and NBA.com columnist David Aldridge, the Washington Wizards believe that they can re-sign Trevor Ariza and Marcin Gortat this offseason, although doing so may be easier said than done.

Gortat is a clear target for the Wizards as he seems to have been a missing piece on this team that desperately needed a big man to help lock things down. Ariza serves a similar role on the team and both have proven to be valuable to the Wizards’ success this season.

It’s easier said than done to re-sign both players and the Wizards will have competition for both, but it’s clear that they’re going to do what they can to get them both back and make another run at a title in 2014-15.
