Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski gets spanked by his mother for his birthday (Photo)

This past Wednesday marked the birthday of New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, and there was no doubt that he partied like no other, in typical Rob Gronkowski fashion. But on Saturday he went to see his mother, and she had a present for him that was less than desirable.

Gronkowski posted that on twitter Saturday night, and it’s actually a pretty hilarious photo. You just have to hope that she didn’t hit him too hard, given how easily prone he is to injury. One tiny smack from that stick and Gronkowski might be out for the season, and Tom Brady will not be a happy man, again.

The tight end is getting ready to enter his fifth year with the Patriots, and he’s hoping that this year can be more successful than the last couple where a slew of injuries derailed his progress.

After playing all 16 games his first two seasons in the NFL, Gronkowski only played in 11 two years ago and just seven last season. He’s one of the more integral pieces of the New England offense and a crucial weapon for Tom Brady as they look to claim the AFC East again.
