Baylor football recruiting: 3-star DE Breckyn Hager commits to Bears
Now that the Baylor Bears look like they will remain a contender in the Big as long as head coach Art Briles remains with the squad, the Bears need more talent in the program.

There has clearly been an upgrade in legitimate professional prospects in the program, but if they’d like to compete for a National Title, there needs to be even more. With new facilities and a new stadium, the Bears expect that to begin happening now and it looks like it has.
The Bears picked up their 10th commitment in the class of 2015 on Thursday when 3-star outside linebacker/weak-side defensive end Breckyn Hager gave his pledge to the Bears.
Hager joins 4-star wide receiver Chad President, 4-star running back JaMycal Hasty, 4-star athlete Blake Lynch, 3-star athlete Louis Brown, 3-star wide receiver Devontre Stricklin, 3-star athlete John Humphrey, 3-star offensive tackle Maurice Porter, 3-star cornerback Jordan Tolbert and 3-star offensive tackle Sam Tecklenburg as Bears’ commitments.
The 6’3, 210-pounder is from Austin, Texas and attends Westlake High School. He currently plays linebacker, but many believe he can put enough weight to eventually become a pass rusher. Hager is ranked as the country’s 58th-best weak-side defensive end, the 215th-best overall prospect in the state of Texas and the 1,408th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Hager also had offers from the Oklahoma Sooners and SMU Mustangs, among others.
