Earlier in the day on Thursday, Florida Gators head coach Billy Donovan revealed that throughout this giant NBA coaching carousel we’ve seen recently, he had indeed been contacted by several teams about making to move to the professional level.

“I have spoken to a couple NBA teams, and that’s all I’m going to say,” Donovan said. “It’s always flattering, but at the same time, I’ve always said that I’m very happy here and like it here.”

Now according to Brian Windhorst at ESPN, we’re learning that at least one of those teams just happens to be the squad that recently were awarded their third top overall draft pick in the last four years, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"The Cleveland Cavaliers have contacted Florida coach Billy Donovan about their coaching vacancy, sources told ESPN.com."

The Cavaliers are in search of a new coach following their decision after the season to end Mike Brown’s second stint with the organization, and have recently been rumored to be very intrigued by the thought of bringing in a high-level college coach.

Well, you can’t get much more high-level than Donovan who nearly claimed his third national championship this past season with the Gators.

Unfortunately for the Cavaliers, though, Donovan did once again express that he’s content with where he’s at, as stated above.
