Controversial figure V. Stiviano readily admits to accepting expensive, gaudy gifts from Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling, but denies having a physical relationship with the  80-year old.

More from NBA

“I’ve never had any sexual relationship with Mr. Sterling. He is in love with me as a person, as a human being. I call everyone ‘honey’ and ‘love’ and ‘sweetie.” she said in an interview with Dr. Phil, who asked about her calling him ‘honey’ in the recorded conversation that has led to Sterling’s NBA downward spiral.

While Stiviano wouldn’t discuss the details of her financial payments, she said she sees nothing wrong with accepting the gifts while working as his personal assistant. Stiviano reportedly received a Ferrari, a Range Rover, two Bentleys, in addition to a $1.8 million duplex. This, all on top of her salary.

Stiviano said that recording the conversations were actually a part of her job, so he could “learn things about himself.”

Stiviano went on to call Sterling a demanding, strong man, saying she didn’t look at the gifts as being from a married man, but rather from a generous boss.

“I was his caretaker. I was his mother. I was his secretary. I was his driver. I did everything for this man for the last three years,” she said. Among other things, she’s previously called herself Sterling’s “silly rabbit.”

NBA commissioner Adam Silver still hopes to remove Donald Sterling as owner of the Los Angeles Clippers
