This is terrible news for lovers of grizzled, unshaven Dustin Pedroia. The Red Sox second baseman has shaved off his beard. The facial fuzz was there as of Saturday but when Pedroia came out Sunday, his face was as smooth as a baby’s butt.

This has to be related to the Red Sox current losing streak which has reached nine games. Pedroia obviously wanted to change up his luck so he busted out the razor and got rid of all the facial hair.

RIP Dustin Pedroia’s beard. You were a magnificent beard and we will never forget you.

Now we’ll see if this attempt at reversing bad vibes or juju or whatever you want to call it will actually work for Pedroia and the Red Sox. Maybe it will and maybe it won’t.

Something needs to work for these guys because, obviously, what they have been trying has not been working. Nine straight losses for Boston? Come on man. You’re the champs.

Let’s turn this thing around before somebody starts proposing drastic measures. Like firing John Farrell. You think it can’t happen right after the World Series win? You don’t know Boston sports. Crazy up there.
