Tampa Bay Rays walk off for third straight game (Video)
By Hayden Kane
For the third game in a row the Tampa Bay Rays won in walk-off fashion.
In so doing they added to the misery of the Boston Red Sox. The defending champs lost their ninth straight game in this one. Being on the wrong end of a walk-off victory is never fun, but in this case it was especially painful.

With two men on in the bottom of the 15th inning, Red Sox reliever Andrew Miller faced Desmond Jennings. Miller induced a weak chopper to the mound that looked like a surefire game-ending double play. Unfortunately for the Sox, Miller fired an errant throw that ended up in center field and allowed for the winning run to score. Some uncertainty about who was covering second might have contributed to the bad throw, but ultimately that is a play Miller just cannot make in that situation.
The Rays are headed the right direction; the Red Sox are not. The two teams will play a series finale in Tampa on Sunday.
