Atlanta Braves wearing Memorial Day uniforms
By Matt Fisher
As teams across Major League Baseball celebrate Memorial Day, the time has come again to break out the military-themed uniforms. The Blue Jays have their own version of it by honouring the Canadian Forces. Every other home team across baseball will be wearing the home white uniform with the logo and letterings filled in with camouflage.
The Atlanta Braves revealed theirs on Monday morning.
The Braves will begin a home-and-home “Interleague Rivals” series against the slumping Boston Red Sox. The teams will start with two games in Atlanta at Turner Field before departing for Fenway Park to play two games in Boston.
On Memorial Day, Clay Buchholz tries to end the Red Sox’ ten-game skid as he opposes the Braves’ Ervin Santana. In his last outing, Ervin Santana suffered his second defeat of the season, allowing six earned runs on nine hits over seven innings to the Milwaukee Brewers. For the season, he has a 3.42 ERA. He has allowed a total of eleven runs and nineteen hits in his last two starts.
On the other side of the coin, Clay Buchholz had his outing during Boston’s ten-game losing streak in Toronto. Lasting only 4.2 innings, Buchholz gave up five runs, four earned on nine hits. Over his 10-game season so far, he has a 6.32 ERA in just 47 innings. The Red Sox are coming off of being swept by division rival Tampa Bay, culminating in a benches-clearing fight late in the game on Sunday.
