The three-point marksmen, who has excellent size for a small forward, measuring in at 6’8.5 in shoes and 208 pounds. Jonathan Givony of Draft Express ranks hood as the 22nd-best overall prospect in the 2014 NBA Draft, but obviously thinks teams around the league, projecting him to go just one spot out of the lottery to the Atlanta Hawks with the 15th-overall pick (I projected Hood to go one pick earlier to the Phoenix Suns with the 14th-overall selection).
Hood, along with former Oklahoma State Cowboys’ point guard Marcus Smart, is in Orlando to work out for the Magic on Monday.
According to Zach Links of Hoops Rumors, Hood will work out for at least eight lottery teams.
ESPN’s Jeff Goodman adds that after Hood’s workout with the Magic Monday, he will be in Chicago to work out for the Bulls Wednesday and then in Philadelphia to work for the 76ers on Sunday.
If the 76ers wind up picking former Kansas Jyahawks’ center Joel Embiid or Australian point guard Dante Exum with the third-overall pick, Hood could fill their need at small forward. As for the Bulls, any player that can score would be a nice pick for them.
Hood put up 16.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
