Early in April, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was involved in a “suspicious incident.” Niners teammate receiver Quinton Patton and Seattle receiver Ricardo Lockette were also named in the incident report, and now the investigation has come to an end.

“Our investigation has been presented to our (Miami-Dade) State Attorney’s Office and we await their decision whether to prosecute or not,” Miami Chief of Police Manuel Orosa told CSNBayArea.com on Wednesday.

So basically it is a waiting game now for Kaepernick, Patton and Lockette. The good news is that Miami police previously stated there was “no evidence of a crime” and Kaepernick was never accused of a crime, either.

“We have been working with the police in regards to the incident almost from the beginning,” said Ed Griffith of the State Attorney’s Office.

But if the way things have been going in this case it looks like Kaepernick should be cleared. 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said he thinks there will be a “good resolution” to the situation.

“Looking at Colin Kaepernick’s situation, at some point there needs to be a resolution to some of this jump-the-gun, witch-hunt scenario we’re seeing,” Harbaugh said, via Bill Williamson of ESPN.com. “I’ve seen one side reported. I’ve heard the other side and feel very good there’ll be a good resolution — and hopefully a just one, too. I hate to see his reputation be the victim.”
