Less than 24 hours ago, word surfaced that former NC State small forward T.J. Warren was set to work out for the Boston Celtics this week as he prepares for the 2014 NBA Draft. On Wednesday afternoon, Warren’s schedule reportedly became a bit heavier, as he is also set to visit with both the Phoenix Suns and the Atlanta Hawks.

News that Warren is in the sights of the Suns and Hawks is particular noteworthy, simply because of where both teams have selections in the coming draft. Phoenix currently holds the 14th, 18th and 27th picks with the Hawks selecting at 15th overall, and all four places would seemingly be in range of where the reigning ACC Player of the Year would be selected.

In fact, T.J. Warren is currently being projected as Phoenix’s pick in the latest mock draft from Draft Express, and that would fit in with the general consensus that he is a top-20 player in this year’s class. As a sophomore at NC State, the 6-foot-8 Warren averaged nearly 25 points per game to lead his conference, and while there are some fit concerns with his game, scouts are nearly unanimous on the fact that he’ll be able to score from the moment he sets foot in the NBA.

Both Phoenix and Atlanta would be solid fits from a roster standpoint, as each need help at small forward, but regardless of where Warren lands, it should be entertaining to watch him on the offensive end at the next level.
