Peyton Manning and his green ball
Peyton Manning has turned a few heads with a new green, Lyrca-covered football he’s been seen with at Broncos’ Organized Team Activities.
However, Manning wasn’t interested in speaking about the specifics of the ball.

“That’s Denver Broncos offensive business,” Manning said in his news conference, via USA Today’s For The Win. When a reporter asked him about it again later, his story didn’t change. “Like I said, that’s official Denver Broncos offensive business, right? It’s kind of an A and B conversation and you can C your way out of it.”
Despite not talking about the ball, Manning blatantly carried it over to a sea of reporters before the scrum.
Some are pointing to the Broncos’ fumbling issues last season as a possibility of the ball’s role in OTA’s. The Broncos fumbled 27 times last season, including losing a league high 16. Manning himself lost six, more than twice his previous career worst.
Offensive coordinator Adam Gase told reporters last week that he expects those issues to be resolved in 2014.
“Guys really hurry themselves, then all of a sudden they get a little lackadaisical with the ball. We have to do a better job as a group with that. That was a big downfall for us early, where the ball was on the ground way too much. It’s almost two seasons in a row and we have to address that right away. We’ve got to be so much better as far as holding onto the ball as a group.”
