Preparing for the NBA Draft, C.J. Fair, 6’8 forward out of Syracuse has reportedly worked out with the Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks, and Charlotte Hornets.

Attending Syracuse University for four years, Fair improved annually, increasing his points per game output in each season leading up to his senior season where he averaged 16.5 points along with 6.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game.

Per the scouting reports, Fair’s strengths mainly come on the offense side of the ball. Despite a dip in three-point percentage, dropping from 46 percent during his junior year to 27 percent during his senior year, Fair is seen as a forward who could excelled at creating his own offense rather it be from the perimeter, on the drive, or in the post against smaller defenders. His weaknesses came in places that are often cited as intangibles that make or break prospects coming into the NBA: defense, rebounding, making the right decisions with the ball, etc. Age is also a bit of an issue as, at the age of 22, scouts may be worried that there is little upside to Fair’s game.

Based on the description above, Fair would be a good fit for all three mentioned teams. The Bulls do not have a second-round pick, while the Bucks have the 36th overall pick and the Hornets have the 45th pick.. If either team sees Fair worth the pick following the workout, those mid-round selections could land the forward in North Carolina or Milwaukee for the 2014-15 NBA season.

C.J. Fair is ranked 72nd on Draft Express’ Top 100 Prospects board.
