Embattled Los Angeles Clippers owner–at least for now–isn’t just despised across the country after his racist comments were revealed which resulted in a $2.5 million fine and a lifetime ban from the NBA, but according to a poll by E-Poll Market Research that was released on Thursday, Sterling is the most hated man in America.

More from Los Angeles Clippers

“Donald Sterling made these callous statements and then he has more than doubled down on them since then,” said Jerry Philpott, president and CEO of E-Poll.

Sterling was named on 92 percent of the ballots which surveyed 1,100 people between 13-49from various demographics and on 97 percent of the ballots from the 13-24 male demographic. Philpot said the average percentage for athletes who are disliked is at 15 percent, so Sterling is going to skew that number just a tad.

Sterling beat out Bernie Madoff whose Ponzi scheme bilked countless individuals out of billions of dollars, who is disliked by 90 percent of the population, disgraced Heisman winner and former NFL running back OJ Simpson (88 percent), Michael Jackson’s doctor Conrad Murray (88 percent) and Justin Bieber (86 percent) who rounded out the top five.

I haven’t even thought of some of those people on this list in the longest time, but apparently they are still strongly disliked by people across the country, despite not being in the public eye as much as Sterling has over the past month.

Sterling is fighting the sale of the Clippers which he purchased in 1981 and could be sold for nearly $2 billion.
