That’s why when they only they fell to the fourth-overall pick in the draft lottery despite having the league’s third-worst record, they didn’t seem to mind. If former Kansas Jayhawks’ teammates, center Joel Embiid and forward Andrew Wiggins, and former Duke Blue Devils’ Jabari Parker were the top three picks, as many expect them to be, the Magic would still get Exum.
However, Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders doesn’t believe Exum is going to make it to four.
"Exum is a big physical point guard. He is a one that can play both guard spots on offense and defense, so he and Oladipo would compliment each other nicely… Vic can guard the ones on defense, while Exum runs the show at point on offense.Exum is a willing defender. He likes to pass the ball and if you let him he can give you 30.I would never put the Penny label on someone because he was such a developed player coming in. Exum like MCW and Livingston is still a young guy thats going to need development time to grow into what he could be. He is far from proven or polished.I see the top four like this — Embiid – Exum – Wiggins – Parker, in some order thats how it plays out so one of those guys is there at #4, and I honestly think it will be Parker and I think the Magic draft him.Personally I’d love to see Exum fall to four, that would be good for me… but I think he goes #2 to Milwaukee or #3 to Philly."
At the NBA’s Scouting Combine, Exum measured in at 6’6 and 196 pounds with a wingspan of 6’9.25.
