Former Michigan Wolverines offensive lineman Taylor Lewan brings a history of off-field incidents with him to the NFL. The Tennessee Titans first-round draft pick was charged with one count of aggravated assault and two counts of assault and battery after a confrontation with an Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

The incident occurred after Ohio State beat Michigan last season, and Lewan has claimed that he was braking up a dispute and not a participant in the fight.

Well there is nothing like the scorn of your former significant other, and Lewan’s ex-girlfriend is ratting him out and clearing up the story.

From the Associated Press:

"According to a 36-page Ann Arbor police report obtained Thursday by The Associated Press, James Hughes of Denver said Lewan hit him in the face and Alexandra Dileo, whose brother was a teammate of Lewan’s, said “Taylor is lying” about his actions on Dec. 1.“He knocked the guy to the ground and he punched him,” she told police in a telephone interview Jan. 29, according to the report. She recalled hearing Lewan tell his mother “I knocked a guy out” the next morning while they were having breakfast."

After being drafted by the Titans, Lewan was adamant that he did not punch anyone in a conference call.

“My off-the-field incident is three assault charges pending right now,” Lewan said, via the team’s website. “I kind of gave them the brief story that I was completely breaking things up. I did push guys to get everything out of the way. I never struck a man closed fist or anything of that nature. The thing is, I explained to them everything and told them the truth, that’s what it was. I’m happy that they believed me. I’m happy that they believed in my character, the kind of person I am. My job is to not do reckless things off the field. My job is to make sure my quarterback is safe and my running backs are in good positions to gain yards.”

There is nothing the Titans can do about it now, they believed him and it looks like he lied to them.
