The Los Angeles Kings are trying to close out the Chicago Blackhawks in the Western Conference Finals but they’re not the team from Los Angeles that everyone is talking about today. In the morning hours locally, former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer agreed to give the Sterling’s $2 billion to go away and he acquired the Los Angeles Clippers in the process.

Dollar amount spent aside, the Clippers are the talk Los Angeles and the sports world and the Kings just can’t avoid the story. Not only do they play in the same building as the Clippers, but Ballmer was present at Game 6 tonight along with his future star player Chris Paul.
There is now even talk of Ballmer simply buying AEG, the Kings and forming a massive sports empire with two professional sports teams and a lot of money to make them titans of their sports.
That’s sports fans getting ahead of themselves, but if Ballmer were to buy the Kings, AEG and move the Clippers out of the Staples Center and into their own stadium, he may finally get them over the hump they’ve never been able to get over of being the little brothers of the Lakers.
Of course, a name change wouldn’t hurt either since Donlad Sterling burped and spit up all over the Clippers name, but for now Ballmer is enjoying the Kings game knowing he’s the future owner of an NBA franchise.
