When the Philadelphia Eagles hired Chip Kelly away from Oregon many expected him to bring his fast-paced offense and he certainly did. Teams complained and the NFL tried to slow them down to a certain degree, but Kelly and his Eagles are upping the tempo from the 2013 season.

From Nick Fierro the Allentown Morning Call:

"The difference in one offseason has been profound. This Eagles offense is moving so much faster between plays this year, forcing the defense to do the same.…I am safe to report that, yes, the goal is definitely to move a lot faster this year and that the Eagles are making significant strides in that area."

Fierro goes on to use a list of images to explain how fast the Eagles offense was. he says the offense was at the line before the whistle was blown ton end the previous play. It was referred to as a “drag race” and that the only delays are when the quarterback didn’t like what he saw and called an audible.

Fierro did get an explanation of sorts from Kelly, who of course won’t come out and admit that he wants to speed the offense up in 2014.

“We’re just running as many reps as we can so we can get it on tape and teach them,” Kelly said. “… What we’re trying to do is, can we get a maximum number of reps for everybody, because we do have three and four groups, both offensively and defensively? Let’s just get a lot of stuff on tape so we can teach off it.”
