NBA Draft Rumors 2014: Aaron Gordon to work out for Boston Celtics

One of the big questions of the offseason is whether or not the Boston Celtics will try to go for a quick fix or they will continue to rebuild through the draft.

There has been a lot of speculation that the Celtics could use their sixth-overall, among other assets to make a trade for Minnesota Timberwolves’ power forward Kevin Love and quickly get back into the postseason, much like they did in 2007 when they dealt for Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett in the offseason.

If the Celtics do hang on to the pick, former Oklahoma State Cowboys’ point guard Marcus Smart, former Indiana Hoosiers’ big man (and Haverhill, Massachusetts native) Noah Vonleh and former Creighton Blue Jays’ forward Doug McDermott could all be in the mix.

However, Arizona Wildcats’ power forward Aaron Gordon has seemingly been most often associated with the Celtics, with many believing the Celtics will select Gordon with that sixth-overall pick.

Gordon was spotted in Boston this week and wanted to assure people that he was in Boston to see his sister graduate from Harvard, but he will be returning for a workout soon.

Gordon was obviously very excited.

Gordon, who measured in at 6’8.75″ and 220 points with a wingspan of 6’11.75″ at the NBA’s Scouting Combine, averaged 12.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game for the Wildcats this season.
