The Cleveland Cavaliers search for a new head coach may be near a conclusion after Tyronn Lue’s interview with the organization. The Cavs were highly impressed with the young coach after the interview, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

Tyronn Lue spent last season with the Los Angeles Clippers under Doc Rivers after following him from Boston last summer. Lue has been linked to the New York Knicks as well and is becoming one of the newest names among NBA assistants to take a head coaching position in the near future.

The Cavaliers have been a rumored destination for Lue in recent weeks and his interview may push the team toward putting him in place as the new head coach following the departure of Mike Brown. The Cavaliers are coming off an underwhelming season and hope to use their lottery luck, where they jumped from the ninth best odds to the first overall pick, to start the process of turning the team around with young star Kyrie Irving and whoever the team chooses in the upcoming draft.

The 2014 draft is expected to have all-stars at the top and could be the right situation for a young coach to find a stable position.
