Russell Westbrook gets hit hard, doen’t draw foul (GIF)

This has been an intense series between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs but not for the reasons you’d think. While the Indiana Pacers at least stood some chance against the Miami Heat, it seems that no matter what happens in this Western Conference series things always end in a blowout.

It’s ironic that the Eastern Conference gets blasted for having weak teams but then we get a Conference Finals series as embarrassingly awful as this one has been, but that’s just the nature of basketball. Something else that was embarrassingly awful was this play on Russell Westbrook which looked like it should have resulted in a foul but somehow didn’t.
It’s hard to say who looks worse in this, as Danny Green certainly got a little too close for comfort with Westbrook while Westbrook sort of jumped into Green to perhaps sell it as being worse than it actually was.
This wasn’t a flop, that’s for sure but it also wasn’t totally Green taking out Westbrook either. The problem is, it seems like something should have been called but it wasn’t and that’s been a sticking point this postseason with fans and some coaches. The officiating hasn’t been really all that great in either of the Conference Finals but it’s again hard to tell if the right non-call was made here or if something should have happened to draw a foul one way or the other.
