Mike Trout is out of the Angels’ lineup for a second straight game with a stiff back, reports Mike DiGiovanna of the L.A. Times. Trout tells DiGiovanna that the back feels better today than it did on Saturday but he’s still not ready to go out there.

More from Los Angeles Angels

Trout will also get a regular off-day on Monday, giving him three straight days to rest his back. Hopefully that will be enough to clear up the stiffness which is in the middle of the back.

Apparently, Mike Trout is not invincible after all. I thought Trout had a Wolverine endoskeleton but that is evidently false. He just has a regular human skeletal system and musculature, so he’s prone to the occasional bout of stiffness.

The Angels will tackle the A’s today with Collin Cowgill in centerfield instead of Trout. Isn’t it weird that the Angels’ regular centerfielder has the same name as a fish and their backup has the word “gill” in his name as well as the name of an animal?

Okay maybe I’m the only one who finds that amusing.
