It has become very clear the Chicago Bulls are going to do whatever they can to add another superstar to their team in the offseason.

More from Chicago Bulls

If the Bulls can hang on to core players like big man Taj Gibson and swingman Jimmy Butler, return point guard Derrick Rose from his knee injury and potentially add a star to center Joakim Noah, they would be legitimate contenders to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference. The Bulls are expected to pursue both Minnesota Timberwolves’ power forward Kevin Love and New York Knicks’ forward Carmelo Anthony.

Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders believes Love is the better fit.

"Unless Carmelo wants to leave $20-$30 million on the table, there just is not a realistic scenario that lands him in Chicago. Kevin Love on the other hand is interesting, but as I just said on Yahoo Radio — not sure I want to trade for Kevin Love now. Without a commitment from him, it could be a rental, and I am not giving up guys I know, trust and have chemistry with, without assurances of a long-term future.I think Love makes more sense for Chicago on several fronts, but I am not sure I would trade for him unless he’ll opt-in to that final contract year and I just do not get the sense he will do that."

Love averaged 26.1 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game last season while  shooting 45.7% from the field, 37.6% from three and 82.1% from the charity stripe. Anthony put up 27.4 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game last season and shot 45.2% from the field, 40.2% from beyond the arc and 84.8% from the free throw line.
