The New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings will kick off the Stanley Cup Finals on Wednesday night in LA, but that didn’t stop the teams from throwing some preliminary jabs in anticipation of the clash. While the Kings have long had one of the most entertaining Twitter accounts in pro sports, it was the Rangers twitter who provided a few nice zingers, which set off a fun exchange between the two.

As documented here, the Rangers twitter account landed a nice jab on the Kings’ twitter mere hours after the Kings eliminated the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals.

Zing!

And with that, the two teams that represent the largest cities in the country have teed off with what promises to be a hard fought series. If Twitter had any bearing on the Cup, well that would be ridiculous, but also the Rangers would have a slight lead going in. As it is, they’ll have to earn a 1-0 lead in the series the old fashioned way on Wednesday night. At least then there will be no chance of the Kings getting lost in New York.
