Sean Lee’s injury will have a devastating effect on the Dallas Cowboy defense, but the question of how it happened and if someone is at fault seems to have been settled.

At least now they can rest easy knowing there was nothing they could have done to avoid it. While the injury was blamed on a fluke collision between Lee and rookie tackle Zack Martin, collisions weren’t exactly in the offering for these organized team activities.
The NFLPA was required to investigate the matter and as ESPN’s Ed Werder tweets, they found everything to be OK in the incident.
Source says NFL Players Association convinced Sean Lee knee injury was not result of contact with Zack Martin and Cowboys violated no rules.

The last thing the Cowboys need is more distractions. Paying for some kind of OTA violation would be just the kind of cherry the Cowboys don’t want to top on the crap sundae that is losing Sean Lee. Instead, they can once more focus on avoiding another god awful season on defense.
The Cowboys had recently signed rookie Anthony Hitchens to replace Lee, but as with any rookie, there is plenty of risk in the move. Time will tell if one of the worst defenses from last year can overcome not only Lee’s injury but also the defection of Pro Bowl pass rusher Demarcus Ware.
