Although much of the focus on professional basketball is tuned on the upcoming NBA Finals rematch between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs, the WNBA has kicked off and is starting the season hot.
As the clock was winding down in the first half, Tulsa Shock and former Notre Dame star, Skylar Diggins was attempting to play some hard nosed defense on the ball handler in order to stop her from getting a shot off.
Diggins did not see the screen that was being set by Seattle Storm’s Crystal Langhorne, and ran right into it with a full head of steam. The subsequent collision was one of the most brutal hits you will ever see in professional sports. Luckily, Diggins was okay after the play.
Langhorne was called for the offensive foul for the screen that put Diggins down, but the ball-handler tried her three point attempt anyhow and airballed in miserable fashion.
