Oakland A’s players rip Manny Machado after thrown bat incident
By Dan Zinski
Manny Machado doesn’t have too many fans on the Oakland A’s after this weekend’s performance, which included the Orioles star getting all snippy after a Josh Donaldson tag, and intentionally tossing a bat down the third base line because he thought the A’s were throwing at him.

A’s catcher John Jaso was one of the first to get in Machado’s grill after the bat throw, and after the game Jaso was still going after Machado, albeit verbally.
“There’s times in baseball where a guy with that kind of talent (acts) like he’s got 10-plus years in the big leagues,” Jaso told CSN California (via HardBallTalk). “That doesn’t really fly well with me and I don’t think it flies well with a lot of players. Sometimes those guys need to be brought down a little bit so they play the game right.
“Obviously there’s a few examples from this series where he isn’t playing the game right, and it’s kind of a disrespect to the game. I know there’s veteran presences over there with the Orioles, and I think it’s up to them to kind of take control of the situation.”
More anti-Machado words game via Scott Kasmir who said, “That was the worst temper tantrum I’ve probably ever seen on a baseball field. He tried to say that he lost the bat. That clearly wasn’t the case.”
Machado’s bat throw resulted in a bench clearing brawl, which ended with Machado being tossed. Now many are calling for Machado to be suspended and/or heavily fined. Manny Machado is like Yasiel Puig with severe rage issues. His antics don’t just frustrate people, they cause people to become downright bent out of shape.
Clearly, Mr. Machado needs to sit down for a little while and think about what he’s done. Flipping bats is cool, but throwing them definitely isn’t.
