Rob Gronkowski’s mom shaved her son’s head. But don’t worry, it was for a good cause. Though Patriots fans hope  the tight end cut his hair to prepare for OTAs or training camp. Gronk did it to support The One Mission, which raises money and awareness for pediatric cancer.

Gronk at attended an annual event held by the One Mission called the Kid’s Cancer Buzz Off at Gilette Stadiun. Now in its fifth year, the One Mission’s goal is to raise $1 million this year. The support of super star Gronkowski will make that goal a bit easier.

“You see hundreds and hundreds of kids here, supporting their friends, supporting their family members, so it’s just a cool event where everyone comes together. And it’s a great cause,” Gronkowski said at the event.

With the razor in momma Gronk’s hands, Rob had a little trepidation at first, but she fulfilled her duties well and Rob ended up with a nice, clean haircut. While fans likely won’t continue to monitor Gronk’s hair situation, they will certainly pay close attention to his recovery from his ACL and MCL surgery. Gronk seems to be in good spirits, but he’s reportedly going to take his time making a return.

He shared a before and after in his tweet here:
