After creating all sorts of buzz by making it to the Stanley Cup, the New York Rangers are fizzling out faster than thought possible and after just three games they’re facing elimination of the most embarrassing fashion. A Stanley Cup sweep is a rough way to end a season and there’s really no harder way to faceplant after looking so impressive.
Yet, that’s what the Rangers are facing as they’re down 0-3 to a Los Angeles Kings team that truly doesn’t know the word ‘lose’. Despite being down and seemingly out more than a handful of times throughout the playoffs, the Kings have surged back and found unfathomable ways comeback and win games in their final stages.
It’s only fitting that their easiest series of a long and winding playoff road is the Stanley Cup — they’ve sort of earned it. New York is back up against a wall though and they haven’t gone down easy in any of their series’ this postseason either, so a sweep is far from a cure thing in Game 4.
