The Miami Dolphins efforts to surround quarterback Ryan Tannehill with talent are not going unnoticed.

More from Miami Dolphins

Today, the Dolphins signed second-round pick Jarvis Landry from LSU.

Landry will join Mike Wallace, Brian Hartline Brandon Gibson and Rishard Matthews on the team’s depth chart.

Tannehill spent much of last season running for his life due to a less than stellar offensive line, but the Dolphins revamped their offense during free agency. A talented receiver like Landry should also help to provide another receiving target while Wallace stretches the defense.

Landry’s deal was worth $3.5 million.

There is no guarantee that Landry will crack the starting line up early, but as a rookie he can learn the ropes during training camp and contribute when his number is called.

Landry took the back seat in this year’s receiver class to a star-studded group including his LSU teammate, Odell Beckham Jr., but Landry was a reliable receiver during his time in the SEC and the Dolphins are hoping he will bring the same success to South Beach.
