Dario Saric, the power forward out of Croatia that some scouts think highly of in this year’s NBA Draft, is apparently not scheduled for any pre-draft workouts. This is a very strange move by Saric who, while projected very high, has many question marks around him.

He could get rid of a lot of those questions by doing some workouts, which usually involve some important evaluation drills. However, the most vital part of the workouts are the interview processes. That’s where a lot of teams separate the players they’re interested in drafting from the ones they’re not.

Saric not only has questions surrounding his skill set, as does every NBA draftee, but many wonder if he’s even going to join his new NBA team immediately after being drafted. Some interviews would put a team’s mind at ease about that situation.

However, no workouts or interviews could lead to a big fall on draft night, just because teams don’t want to draft a guy they know nothing about, outside of evaluating the same tapes that everybody else has.

It is possible that Saric already has been informed by a team that they’re interested in his services, so he doesn’t feel the need to go through the rigors of a workout process. A lot of players stop doing workouts for teams once they get confirmation someone is going to draft them, or if they know that they won’t fall a certain amount of picks.

Joel Embiid and Andrew Wiggins, for example, have only been doing workouts for the top teams because they don’t expect to fall any further than, at most, the 5th overall pick.

That said, the only thing we know for sure right now is that he hasn’t worked out for anybody. Whatever his reasoning, lets hope it’s a good one, or we could see quite a tumble come draft time.
