NBA Rumors: Cavaliers to interview David Blatt on Wednesday
By Jack Crosby
With the month of June halfway in the books, and the NBA Draft rapidly approaching, time is running out for the Cleveland Cavaliers to find a new head coach before they select the no. 1 overall draft pick for the third time in four years. With that, the process seems to be speeding up a bit as, according to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the team will interview former Maccabi Tel-Aviv coach David Blatt.

Blatt has been one of the most successful European coaches in recent memory, however with the plethora of openings there were on the NBA sidelines this year, he decided ultimately to resign his position and pursue his dream of coaching at the highest level of basketball possible.
With what little time is left in the coaching search, the Cavaliers could move quickly with the hire after the interview, if not, though, then the Golden State Warriors could be landing themselves one of the better assistant coaches available, according to Wojnarowski.
"Unless the Cavaliers move quickly to hire Blatt upon meeting him, there’s a strong belief within theGolden State Warriors and some close to Blatt that he’ll accept a job as Steve Kerr’s top assistant. Kerr seems willing to give Blatt the opportunity to push his process with Cleveland into mid-week, but it’s doubtful that Kerr will go much longer than that without pushing Blatt for a commitment, sources said."
Considering the wealth of young talent that the Cavaliers could end up with going into next season, plus Blatt’s proven ability to manage a team, albeit in Europe, this deal could very well begin and end on Wednesday with a hire.
