Los Angeles Dodger outfielder Yasiel Puig is known for his off-the-field antics as much as his play most of the time.  Tonight, he will be known for his play for this diving catch in the gap to take a double away from Colorado Rockies catcher Wilin Rosario.

More from Colorado Rockies

Puig’s perceived aloofness has led to some of his outstanding throws and catches from right field so far in his young career.  Still, how long until he wins a Gold Glove with plays like this one? Puig’s diving catch ended the top of the fourth inning, preserving a 2-0 Dodger lead that shortstop Hanley Ramirez got them with a home run in the bottom of the third.

Check it out here:

Puig got his only hit of the night in three attempts so far immediately following Hanley’s home run.

Matt Kemp added a solo home run to lead off the home half of the fourth inning to put the Dodgers up 3-0.

Rosario would exact a mild form of revenge though.  The Rockies loaded the bases with no one out in the sixth inning off of Zack Greinke, but only managed a sac fly from Wilin Rosario to get a lone run from this golden opportunity.

Corey Dickerson drove in Josh Rutledge with an RBI double in the seventh to cut the Dodger lead to 3-2.
