Things are not going well for the New York Knicks.

More from NBA

Now that star forward Carmelo Anthony is set to terminate his current contract, it looks like he may be moving on. In fact, the Knicks may no longer be the favorites to retain Anthony and it looks like the Chicago Bulls may in fact be the leaders for Anthony. He’d clearly be a good fit in Chicago because of their need for a scorer and there are few better pure offensive players in the league than Anthony.

They also received the news that big man Amar’e Stoudemire and forward Andrea Bargnani will be opting in to their contracts.

Plus, the Knicks don’t have a pick in this week’s draft and are desperately trying to acquire a pick.

According to Bleacher Report’s Howard Beck, teams are putting an increased value on first round picks and no one wants to simply sell their pick – they want something in return and the Knicks may not even be able to buy an early second rounder.

The Knicks are said to value former North Carolina Tar Heels and Texas Legends’ guard P.J. Hairston and former Syracuse Orange point guard Tyler Ennis, but they won’t be able to get their hands on either of them without a major trade.
