Although the Philadelphia 76ers hoped to land the top-overall pick following 19-63 season, they will have to settle for the third-overall pick.

More from NBA

The 76ers are still in good place. They have young talent to build around in their two first round picks from 2013 – point guard Michael Carter-Williams, who was the Rookie of the Year and big man Nerlens Noel, who missed his rookie season while rehabbing from a torn ACL.

They will likely select either former Kansas Jayhawk’s forward Andrew Wiggins, former Duke Blue Devils’ forward Jabari Parker or Australian point guard Dante Exum (or former Jayhawks’ center Joel Embiid if they want to take the risk) and add another player with the 10th-overall pick.

Matt Moore of CBS Sports does not expect the 76ers to make a trade with the 10th-overall pick with the only exception being that they could use forward Thaddeus Young to move up from 10.

"Trade down: Doesn’t make great sense here. They’re going to get a valuable player here, and they need young talent.Trade up: They’re not going to want to surrender this pick, even if it means getting Andrew Wiggins. They might package it and Thaddeus Young to jump a few spots if they really want someone, though.Trade for a vet: Nope, that’s not the plan."

Moore believes Croatian forward Dario Saric, former Michiga State Spartans’ guard Gary Harris, Harris’ Spartans’ teammate, forward Adreian Payne, former UCLA Bruins’ guard Zach LaVine, former Creighton Blue Jays’ forward Doug McDermott, Swiss big man Clint Capela, former Kentucky Wildcats’ swingman James Young and former Michigan Wolverines’ swingman Nik Stauskas as potential picks for the 76ers.
